This Privacy Policy explains how Arslan ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects information in connection with the Meetha Pakwan mobile and web application (collectively, the "App"). We've kept the App privacy-first by design: it works without an account and stores your recipes and favorites on your own device.
1. Overview
Meetha Pakwan is a dessert recipe and sweet-building app dedicated to the rich culinary traditions of Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and neighboring regions. We believe a recipe app should not need to know who you are. We do not require accounts, we do not run advertising SDKs, and we do not sell data.
This document describes — in plain English — what limited information may be processed, why, and the rights you have.
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
- The Meetha Pakwan mobile application on iOS and Android.
- The Meetha Pakwan web version, if accessed via a browser.
- Any support communication you initiate with us by email.
It does not apply to third-party websites, app stores (Apple App Store, Google Play), or services that are not operated by us, even if linked from the App.
3. Information We Collect
Meetha Pakwan is designed to collect as little information as possible. The categories that may be processed are:
a) Content you create
Recipes, custom sweets built with the Sweet Builder, favorites, tags, notes, ingredient lists, preparation steps, serving information, and difficulty levels you enter. This content is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us.
b) App preferences
Settings such as preferred units (grams, cups), language, dark mode, and which regional categories you've expanded. Stored locally on your device.
c) Support correspondence
If you email us at arslan.devapps@gmail.com, we receive your email address, the message contents, and any attachments you choose to send. We use this only to respond.
d) Diagnostic information (platform-level)
Apple and Google may, independently of us, collect aggregated crash and performance data when their default diagnostics setting is enabled on your device. This is governed by your device's privacy settings and by Apple's and Google's policies — not by us.
4. Information We Do Not Collect
To be explicit, Meetha Pakwan does not collect or process:
- Your name, phone number, address, date of birth or government ID.
- Precise or approximate location.
- Your contacts, calendar, SMS, call logs, or device identifiers for advertising (IDFA / AAID).
- Photos from your photo library (unless you explicitly attach one to a custom recipe — see Permissions).
- Health, biometric, financial or payment information.
- Behavioral analytics, page-view tracking or third-party advertising data.
5. How We Use Information
The limited information described above is used to:
- Provide core App features (saving, editing, browsing your recipes and favorites).
- Remember your in-app preferences between sessions.
- Respond to your support requests and bug reports.
- Maintain the security and reliability of the App.
- Comply with legal obligations where applicable.
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles or to make automated decisions that produce legal effects.
6. Legal Basis for Processing
Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, the legal bases we rely on are:
- Performance of a contract — to deliver the App functionality you requested.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the App secure and improving stability.
- Consent — for any optional features that require explicit opt-in (e.g. attaching a photo).
- Legal obligation — when we must respond to lawful requests.
7. Where Your Data Is Stored
Your recipes, favorites and preferences are stored in the App's local storage on your device. They are not synced to our servers. If you uninstall the App, clear its data from device settings, or switch devices, this content will be removed and cannot be recovered by us.
Support emails are stored in our email provider's inbox for as long as needed to assist you and to keep a reasonable history of past issues.
9. Third-Party Services
The App itself does not integrate third-party advertising networks, behavioral analytics, or social SDKs. The only third parties that may indirectly receive data are:
- Apple App Store / Google Play — for app distribution, crash reporting and (if enabled by you) in-app updates.
- Email provider — if you contact support.
Each of these third parties has its own privacy policy that governs its handling of your data.
11. Data Retention
- On-device content (recipes, favorites, settings): retained until you delete it or uninstall the App.
- Support emails: typically retained for up to 24 months unless a longer period is needed to resolve recurring issues or for legal reasons.
12. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. Because saved content lives on your device, its security depends largely on your device's security. We recommend:
- Using a device passcode, Face ID, or fingerprint lock.
- Keeping your operating system and the App up to date.
- Only installing the App from the official Apple App Store or Google Play.
No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Delete information ("right to be forgotten").
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
- Data portability — receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Because most of your content is stored only on your device, you can exercise most of these rights yourself by editing or deleting content inside the App. For anything held by us (such as your support emails), contact us at arslan.devapps@gmail.com.
14. Children's Privacy
Meetha Pakwan is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where required by local law). If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through a support email, please contact us and we will delete it.
15. International Users
The App is available worldwide. If you contact support, your email may be processed in a country other than the one you live in. Where required by law, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for international transfers.
16. California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, including:
- The right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used.
- The right to delete personal information we have collected from you.
- The right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information.
- The right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

17. European Users (GDPR/UK GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the rights described in Section 13. The data controller is Arslan, contactable at arslan.devapps@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
18. Device Permissions
The App may request the following permissions only when you use the feature that needs them:
- Photo library / camera — only if you choose to attach a photo to one of your custom recipes. The photo is stored locally with the recipe.
- Storage — to save your recipe data on the device.
- Notifications — only if you opt in to cooking timer reminders.
You can revoke any permission at any time in your device's system settings. The App will continue to work; only the feature that needs that permission will be disabled.
19. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, legal requirements, or best practices. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide a more prominent notice inside the App. Your continued use of Meetha Pakwan after updates means you accept the revised policy.
